Trip to "Oasi Sant'Alessio"

Yesterday, me and my family, went to a oasis naturalist named "Sant'Alessio" near Pavia. The chance to go there was given to us from the nursery school where Gabriel is frquenting. We met the other parents at 9.15 am and then, about 20 minutes later, we left Garbagnate to Sant'Alessio. Nearly 50 km far and it took an hour to reach Sant'Alessio. The place we entered was a castle 30 years ago, it was transformed into small part. Inside, near the entrance you can meet some parrots, one of them is outside the cage, on the branch of a tree, watching the people passing by and somtime cleaning itself. In a couple of pace, we arrived in front of the little restaurant. Only 20 meters ahead, there is a place where you can have your meal on some wooden table (we call picnic). If you want, you can also buy something from the grilling booth. Walking a few steps ahead, there's a T cross, you can start your tour. There are two lanes: one "yellow" and the other "blue". We chose the yellow one because it is shorter. We were able to see some birds, butterflies, and also fishes. We saw also sloth, 2 little ara ararauna (parrots) born only two weeks ago, three rays, an iguana under the sun, some piranhas, a small crocodile, turtles, ibis, pink flamingos, hawk, eagle. It took more than one hour to finish this tour and, after, since Gabriel was hungry, we went to have our meal: two hamburgers with cheese and ham, same chips and fruit juice. After a coffee (Italian people cannot do anything after lunch and before anything else, without a coffee) we begun the second path, the blue one. Two horses gave the "welcome" to us, then we passed many pools (really was the same little rives with many partition walls) where we found different species of fishes. To tell the truth, we were able to see some fish only in few of them, also because the water was green and not transparent. Then we went to a part of the park with many trees and, it was said, many birds. We were able to see only part of them. There were many birds called White spoonbill Steckbrief , and few plegadis falcinellus. It seems is the only place around all Europe these birds continue to live. At the end, after another hour spent to walk, we arrived at the end of our tour. We met other people there and Gabriel went to play with other children. It was already near 4 pm when we moved back. We stopped at my parent's house and we went to the little field my father is taking care. Gabriel watered the garden. At the end, we spent a good day. We were tired but satisfied. I think Gabriel is still too young to appreciate this kind of place, but I would like to go in other place like this, kind of zoo where animals are free and visitors are inside their car. I'll tell you, when it happens.
